Today we concluded our second week of summer camp at Home With Dee Co-op, “YAY”! We started the day with a poem, “Counting On The Woods” by George Ella Lyon and the book, “Muddy Paws” by Moira Butterfield. We then mixed soil, food coloring, and a bit of watered downed glue to make our own nature inspired paint. While mixing these ingredients, I briefly spoke about how two primary colors such as red and blue make a secondary color such as purple. The children really enjoyed mixing, playing, and making their own master pieces. We then explored Matheson Hammock Park by taking a trail walk around and exploring the different types of trees, mangroves, limestone’s, animals, bugs, reptiles and spiders. We ended the day with a picnic, more fun and exploration.
