Today we learned about air pressure and how to use a barometer to predict the weather. To help explain air pressure, I showed the children how air takes up space using a balloon. Then we conducted an experiment to help see air pressure, by using an egg, a jar and some matches. I explained to the children that air takes up space therefore it has weight, that weight is called pressure. We then made our own barometer and tested it outside. We found that when the pin went up it was a sunny and if the pin went down it was a rainy day. Our barometer predicted it would be sunny, IT WAS CORRECT!!! Yay!!!
